I’m about to fall asleep, typing on my phone – this WordPress app is nice
Just wanted to follow up with the last post, “Psych Ward Runaway.
In the psych ward, I was first acquainted with people from diverse backgrounds. Up until then I was pretty sheltered, growing up in a mostly Jewish community. This taught me that everyone is the same inside, regardless of physical appearance. It is amazing how many people still get caught up in outward looks. The stereotypes that are fed to the masses.
[It's all about the energy we give off.]
In the psych ward I also experienced pharmaceutical antidepressants, which were forced upon me, was stuck in the same 2 rooms for 30
days, forced to eat horrible unhealthy food, no fresh air or sunshine, barely any real physical activity, they took away my music…being “locked up”. Eventually, towards the end, I moved up to a certain level for being good and was allowed physical therapy which exposed me to a few yoga asanas and some relaxation techniques and limited access to music. Anyway, I was on the drugs for about 2 years after that – before, when my family tried to feed me happy pills (after the suggestion of a therapist) but I did not take them until they were forced down my throat at the hospital. After I started working at Whole Foods and began learning about healthy lifestyles, herbs and nutrition, I changed my lifestyle 180 degrees – stopped smoking, went organic vegan, began to spend lots of time in nature, worked and helped people, discovered yoga and meditation. I also began experimenting with Bach flower essences. In 2005, while I was visiting my Sister and her husband in Portland, Oregon, I went to my first yoga class and remember the specific moment where I reconnected with my sprit. It was in balasana, child’s pose. I was wearing a black t-shirt with a white screen printed photograph of Bob Marley.
Eventually I found my guru and lived at a monastery- ashram- Eco village in the mountains for 2 years, where I was able to grow immensely and retreat/ meditate.
We meditated3 hours every day – 1 hour at sunrise, noon, and sunset. I studied a lot of books on eastern philosophy, meditation, spiritual growth, natural healing, and other esoteric sciences, created artworks of various kinds, utilized many skills building different things. We, the brothers and sisters of the community and our beloved spiritual teacher lived off the land, with wood stoves using fallen tree, bathed in cold water, ate fresh organic whole food vegan foods, worked an extensive organic vegetable and herb garden,
That was a beautiful experience and now that I’m again living in the world (not of it), I’d like to help promote consciousness expansion and spiritual development so all beings may be happy and free.
I would like to show people how to get rid of depression and other health problems, naturally.
I completed a 200 hr yoga teacher training in 2011 and have been vegan since 2005. I have studied crystal healing, and Bach flower essence therapy, and am trained in levels 1 & II reiki.
